Yellow by Nathan Sawaya

Yellow by Nathan Sawaya

This is probably the coolest thing I’ve seen in awhile.

I’m a big fan of illustrators and digital artists, but once in awhile I’ll find someone, a sculptor, painter, whatever, who can literally take my breath away and leave me think “how in the hell did he do that?!”. Nathan Sawaya is one of these people. He is a sculptor that doesn’t use traditional clay for his masterpieces. No, Nathan chooses to use toys. Lego’s to be exact. Much like designers Dee & Ricky, Nathan has taken a simple material and transformed it into something spectacular.

Currently Mr. Sawaya has a show that’s touring the United States. For more information on the show, and to see more of his work, visit his website The Art of Bricks.
